ANITAAAAAAAA COME BACK TO AUSSSSSSS

The tennis season is starting to firing up, and I don't have Anita to talk about random players and random Forty Deuce stuff that we always talk about, especially in Science. SHe's not even IN the country.

Anyway, she'd be happy to know that Rafa beat Roger at the Abu Dhabi finals (I think that's how you spell it?). Then they did this:

Pretty cool eh? This isn't the best shot but Rafa and Roger where promoting teh Qatar Open, on water. No wonder Qatar won the 2022 Fifa bid. THEY'RE SUPER MEGA FREAKING RICH. If I ever meet a person from Qatar (a Qatarian?), all I'll ever see in them is dollar signs zinging in their eyeballs and gold running right through their veins.

In the meantime, the Brisbane International got off to a pretty good start. Sam won her 1st round match yesterday against a Czech qualifier Lucie Hradecka 7-6(1) 6-1. The start was really shaky. Actually, I managed to watch the first bit before my mum started chastising me for watching television (ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!) She was down 2-0 in the first set. It rained and after the delay, the tables turned and Sam was back on her game and just did her thing in the 2nd set.

Some things went a little unexplained during the match though:

Sam... pink? WHAT THE HECK???!!!! Forty Deuce made her own judgement on other aspects: "Let's talk about the thing that's on all our minds: WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO, LACOSTE??? Sleeves??? A logoless cap that looks like it was bought at a truck stop in Santa Cruz??? SLEEVES??? I mean, yay to separates, but SLEEVES???!!!???!!??!."

I was skimming thorugh the Aus Open site to see if they had anything interesting articles and they did. It was about predictions for 2011. Here's the gold:

Australian Open: Djokovic, Clijsters
Roland Garros: Nadal, Stosur
Wimbledon: Nadal, Serena
US Open: Federer, Sharapov

Me likey ;)

Sam's 2nd round match against fellow compatriot Jarmila Groth is on tonight. The bad news is that Channel 7 has ditched covering it in favour of Scrubs or something or rather. ==' Well, I'll be hooked up to my laptop getting square-eyed and all following the little blip of the digits on the live scoring.

Aus Tennis coming right up

It's that time of the year where I would realise I will no longer have to be bored because THERE'S GONNA BE TENNIS ON THE TELLY. Yes, that's right.

What we have for January is:

- Brisbane International 2-9 January
- Medibank International (Sydney) 9-15 January
- Moorilla International (Hobart) 7-13 January
- AUSTRALIAN OPEN!!! (Melbourne) 17-30 January

I am really annoyed because the Aus Open isn't showing on Channel 7 this year. IT's going to be on Fox Sports and I don't have Foxtel. NOW, what am I going to spend otherwise meaningless mornings and afternoons doing?????? I guess I probably wouldn't be able to because I'm getting dragged to work every day. =='

Hopefully, the Brisbane and Medibank int. are being shown on Channel 7 and also because Sam's going to be in them YEEEEP!!!!!!

I can't wait for the tennis season to begin :D

sam stosur update (a saddish one)

she lost to vika in TWO sets (6-2 6-3) I have no idea what happened cos it was like 4am EST when the match was on so i wasn't subject to any of fourty deuce's commentary on twitter. so she lost in the semis but she improved! last year she got to the quarters. I hope Masha wins the title (She beat Aggy in the other semi) as revenge against VIka for beating Sam =D

Anway, next up is San Diego at the Mercury Insurance Open. She's the #2 seed with JJ as the #1 seed so they both get R1 byes. The big problemo is that in the 2nd round, Sam will verse Vika or Mel Oudin. I'm hoping Mel wins so it's not a rematch of the defeat this morning. Well, it's ok, as long as she beats Vika who now leads their H2H 4-0. D=

PINCH AND PUNCH FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH =D

Stosur Update Stanford

After receiving a first-round bye into the Bank of the West Classic (because she's the #1 seed), she won her second round against American McHaley 6-1 7-5 and just won her quarter-finals against Yanina Wickmayer 7-5 3-6 6-3. WOOT! Now she's off to verse Aza who beat the defending champion Marion Bartoli. Her chances? I have no idea. Aza creeps me out with her vocal cords and Sam just looks like a blank page. When she's on court, you have absolutely no idea what is ticking through her mind.

The other semi will be Aggy vs. Sharapova or Elena (#2 seed). My odds are on Sharapova because Elena is just recovering from her injury and Sharapova is always on the kill, with her vocal chords too.

Forty Deuce makes me laugh, loud, very loud. Well, let's just read shall we?

stosur/stanford update

I basically copied and pasted because I am so lazy =D

The 2010 Bank of the West Classic draw was announced on Saturday afternoon, with Samantha Stosur and Elena Dementieva both earning first-round byes and locking up the top two seeds, respectively.

There are several notable matchups on both sides of the draw, which should make for another competitive tournament when main draw competition gets underway on Monday, July 26.

Stosur appears to be well-positioned in the first quarter of the draw, as she is guaranteed to face a qualifier in her second round matchup. Wildcard entrant Hilary Barte, a three-time All-American in both singles and doubles heading into her senior season at Stanford, will square off against Dominika Cibulkova in another interesting contest.

The second quarter of the draw features two seeded players in No. 4 Marion Bartoli, the defending Bank of the West Classic champion and No. 8 Victoria Azarenka, along with a few other familiar names. Former World No. 1 and 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic looms as a wildcard and faces Alisa Kleybanova, while rising American star Melanie Oudin takes on Aleksandra Wozniak, the 2008 Bank of the West Classic champion.

Current World No. 11 Agnieszka Radwanska is seeded No. 3, headlining the top half of the main draw on the opposite side. Sixth-seeded Shahar Peer opposes Daniela Hantuchova in a must-see contest, while Maria Kirilenko battles one of two qualifiers in that section.

After a first-round bye, Dementieva will play the winner of former World No. 1 Dinara Safina and Kimiko Date Krumm. On the opposite side of that quarter is a highly-anticipated matchup between three-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova and 2010 Australian Open semifinalist Jie Zheng.

The Week Ahead - Sam Stosur

So as I just looked at my tag cloud, I realised that Samantha Stosur is now tiny and I want to make that tag fatter so I figured if I started talking about her more, the tag would get fatter. Anyhow:

- Sam is going into the Bank of the West Classic at Stanford which starts on Monday which is basically like at 1AM our time on Tuesday.
- Fact: At Stanford last year, Sam beat Serena Williams in the quarters (WOOT!)
- The draw hasn't come out cos qualifying is on the weekend and I think then they put the draw together or something.
- Elena is scheduled to play but I thought she was injured. Oh well.
- Serena is injured apparently and won't be able to play all the way up the US Open. I hope she can't go to the US Open (hehehehe). Ok. That's mean.
- defending champion: Marion Bartoli
- Other players: Sharapova, Aggy, Shahar Peer, Yanina Wickmayer, Vera, Jie Zheng, Dannie, Kleybs (jerking head)

tennis update - long time no see

so the reason why i haven't really been ranting on about Samantha Stosur or tennis in general is because Wimbledon is over and the hard court season has begun and there will be no serious action until ... the end of July when Sam goes to Stanford.

How opinionated of me. There is only serious action when Sam's around ;P

And the US Open is ages away - it's in August. HEY! That's actually not THAT far away. hmm... Well it starts on the 30th of August. So really, I guess it starts in... September (I was trying to think what month comes after August)?

I have no idea what kind of shizzle road Hewitt is going on right now. Davis Cup is coming up! But Australia's not in the quarters. Besides, we suck compared to other countries like Spain. I still don't get why Rafa isn't in the Spanish team. *shakes fist* I'm not a Rafa fan but you'd think that when it comes to playing for your country, you'd BE there. =='

*laughs like a maniac*

This person just makes me laugh XD. 'and especially your athlete body! You're really sexy! lol!'
I'm trying to imagine Sam's face after reading this on her website. o.0

Eastbourne here we come

MWAHAHAHAHA. In Eastbourne, the seeds
are:

#1 - Caro Wozniacki
#2 - Franny Schiavone
#3 - Sam Stosur teehee
#4 - Aggy Radwanska
#5 - Kim Clijsters
#6 - Flavia Penetta
#7 - Li Na
#8 - Marion Bartoli

Let's
just make that:
#3 - Sammy
#5 - Kim Clijsters
#8 - Marion Bartoli
Yup. That's all of the seeds left. o.0.

Caro lost to Aravane Rezai but I don't really like either.

Franny lost to Sorana Cirstea (is that her name?????) after her amazing run at the French Open so ... I think that proves something. Either she sucks on grass/is having a bad day (Serena Wiilliams mentality)/Cirstea was just too good.

Aggy lost to Victoria Azarenka who i'm surprised isn't a seed cos she's really good.

Flavvy lost to a qualifier o.0

Li Na retired in her game a day or two after her win somewhere else (I forgot where it was, maybe Aegon Classic in god-knows-where).

BUT, Sam is still in, winning over American Melanie Oudin 6-4 6-4. good on ya Sammy. =P

liz - 'blah di blah di blu'

wow. it's been a while since i've blogged which seems unnatural.

Anyhow,
it was my birthday (*nodding*) on Friday if I follow the lunar calendar and that makes me fifteen WOOT and my kind mummy bought me a cake that i've been eating for breakfast ever since then. and if you know, it's my REAL birthday soon =D teehee. looking forward to a special day in the next couple of hours and i can officially confirm on that day that one year of teenagehood has gone by =(.

by the way...
CHICKEN FEET ARE YUMMILICIOUS - thought i might shout that out for Eve and remind her that she promised to eat them so she better

on the tennis scene...
i actually haven't been following it that much lately. all i know is that the last time i checked
- hewitt was into the quarters at Halle, otherwise known as the Gerry Weber Open and HOLEY MOLEY, i was just going to laught at Hewitt and say that Federer was also in the draw and he'd never get close to Federer but i just checked and they're in the finals =S. Now, I can't decide who I'll be rooting for. On one side, I don't mind Federer but I have a tendencey to get annoyed at him, maybe cos I think he's old and should retire and look after his kids but Hewitt's attitude annoys me. I guess I'll go for Hewitt cos he's Aussie. =D To be honest, all odds go to wards Federer winning the final. hasn't he won like 15 grand slam titles and like 60-odd something atp titles?
- Birmingham (aka AEGON Classic): Sharapova and Li Na are into the finals and there both the top seeds, Sharapova is the 2nd seed and Li is the 1st. I'm rooting for Sharapova cos she's awesome.
- Eastbourne (aka AEGON International): started yesterday with qualifying rounds. I think the actual competition starts on our Tuesday and their Monday. Sam's in this one so GO SAM!!!! Problem is, Sam sucks on grass and she knows it herself BUT you never know. I think Dinara sucks on grass too but she got to the final for Wimbledon once I think or maybe someone else, but there you go.
- WIMBLEDON starts on the 21st of June so we still have ages. On other news, I heard Rafa pulled out with some back/bum injury KEKEKE but apparently its good cos its not his knee that has been niggling him. GRRR. Sam got to the finals of Roland Garros and her ranking doesn't change. =( oh well, she gets the points, but STILL....

I'll be a Stosur Fan all the way =)

So, she didn't win last night, but what amazes me is the fact that she can be so calm about it and be so nice towards her opponent. In her press conference, this French dude (who has really bad English grammar) asked her if she was always such a good sportswoman and why she was so perfect. What a nice thing to ask after she lost the match of her LIFE... so far. I'm sure another Grand Slam title will come your way Sam because you're only 26 (in comparison to an oldie of 29, I'm referring to Schiavone)and besides, you're awesome in every way. Just kick some butt/ass. I prefer ass. Either way is fine. =D

Now, all I have to do is BEGG my mum for tennis lessons and do tennis next year cos you've actually inspired me that much. =D.

You're amazing Sam

=(

OMG. Am watching the women’s final at Roland Garros between Stosur and Schiavone. SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE. I am ‎actually shaking. What is wrong with me? Why is tennis so freaky to watch? I haven’t ever even PLAYED tennis. Anyway, ‎the first set is at the moment Stosur 4-3. Sam is making some errors but Schiavone is surprisingly really good which is ‎frekaing me out. Sam you CAN win this. Anita, you are right. Schiavone is going for all the smart shots and goes for all of ‎them. She keeps getting Stosur to the net who doesn’t look comfortable at. D=‎

COME ON STOSUR!!!! Its now 4 all. Both have really good kick serves but come on Stosur!!!‎
The good thing about Sam’s play is that she doesn’t show emotion so it looks like she doesn’t get angry or anything but ‎that’s what it LOOKS like. SHIVERS. Schiavone is up 40 love in the 9th game. D= COME ON SAM YOU CAN DO THIS. USE ‎YOUR AWESOME SERVE!!!!! Yes, she’s coming back. Stosur 40-15. You can bring it back to deuce. YESH!!!! Stosur 40-30. ‎BREAK POINT!!!! SHIT. A double fault from Stosur gives Shiavone the lead 5-4. NOT GOOD. ‎
At the moment, I am so scared. The crowd keeps ooh-ing and aah-ing and they’’re both ripping apart the ball. They’re just ‎going for the balls so hard that it’s scaring me. YEP. Stosur is coming back. Clay courts are weird. How do they get the ‎lines and don’t the lines get smished up into the clay?. WOW. Schiavone is really good. Her serves are just as killer as ‎Stosur’s. Stosur has GOT to break back soon. ‎
SET POINT for Schiavone. I can’t watch so I’m just going to keep typing. YES. Deuce. Adv. Schiavone. It’s always ‎volleys that are catching Stosur. SET POINT AGAIN. Jinx hinx jinx jinx jinx. SHITE. Set point for Schiavone. 1st set 6-4. ‎
SAMMY YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!! The next set will be yours. =D A little ‎optimism should do. ‎
I’m going to not type until the end of the match. Typing is distracting me. I’m just going to just watch and hope she does ‎something FANTASTIC =)‎

TEEHEE. So happy. So stosur lost the first set, but that’s ok (it was 6-4 Schiavone) but now she’s up 4-1 in the second set. ‎Stosur looks more confident and relaxed now. By the way, did I tell you about my stupidity. I swear today is like my ‎‎‘stupid’ day. I should celebrate my stupidity every year on this day on the 5th of June (technically its 6th of June right now). ‎So first, for bballl I went ALL The way to pymble, then found out it was cancelled when I got to a deserted school. BUT the ‎courts were dry because me and the coach checked PLUS it was a blue sky and perfectly cloudless. So, now, I checked ‎the TV guide like a gazillion times to see what time this program would start and I kept seeing 11:45PM but it was ‎ACTUALLY 10:45PM ==’. So I ended up missing the whole of the first bit and I like watching the intros cos they show the ‎epic run the finalists have to the end. SHITE. The set is now 4-2 Stosur but Schiavone is upping the anti. It’s 40 love ‎Schiavone. =S. and then it’s an ace from Sam =D. damnit. Schiavone got the game AGAIN. Its now 4-3. Go forward sam, ‎forward. ‎
I’ve just realised: this could end disastrously and I will go mental and hit the TV with the remote if Stosur loses but now it ‎looks so posisble unless she rips this set out of Schiavone’s hands. I want Schiavone to have some more double faults and ‎unforced errors. That should do the job for Stosur. >=D. Omg. The linespeople scream so LOUD when they say ‘Out’ or ‎‎‘Fault’ that its piercing and just screams out from the TV. OK. Stosur, you’re down and you can’t let Schiavone take this ‎game cos it’ll be 4 all AGAIN and you know what happened last set. This could be potentially over so soon. And it is 4 all. ‎
AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE. OI OI OI. Hopefully my awesome shouting all the way from ‎Australia-land can help you here because you are in a big fat puddle of trouble right now. You can sorta tell that the ‎crowd is pro-Stosur cos everytime she wins the point, there’s this massive sigh of relief and when she doesn’t, there’s ‎this massive OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH. YAY! Stosur just won the next game. Good on you Stosur! Told you so; my ‎awesome aussie-oing helps =D. She can take this set and it can be up to the 3rd set for the champion to be decided. I ‎don’t really like the Channel 9 coverage. I prefer the Channel 7 coverage of the Aus Open cos they show these epic slo-‎mos and you can see the sweat just flying off them and their eyes are so damn concentrated on the ball like they are ‎going to rip it apart or something. ‎
WOW. Schiavone is going for it alright. She’s really going for the aces. Please don’t make this a tiebreaker. Well, ok, to be ‎fair, you can have a tiebreaker but you have to win by heaps =). OHMYGOSH. The second set is 5 all. OK. Sam Stosur, you ‎could be 2 games away from giving away that big beautiful trophy. I want to see YOU take that trophy home and hold it up ‎high and give an awesome speech in a press conference and we all want to celebrate back home and we all want it to be ‎the top news tomorrow night. We want it to be on the front cover the Sunday Morning Herald and for me to shout it at ‎Anita and everyone else at school and for me to not concentrate in Science because I’m reading all sorts of articles and ‎blogs about your epic game (whether you win or lose) but dig in hard and that’s what you’re doing right now. =P. ‎
AND SHE TAKES THE GAME. Stosur holds 6-5 in the second set. The thing with Schiavone is that she’s really smart and ‎mixing it up for Stosur. OMNIGOSH. Yes, that’s right, OMNIGOSH, that’s how nerve-racking this game is. Shiavone is up 30 ‎love and this could be a tiebreaker and .she could lose the tiebreaker and it would be the end… BUT Stosur could turn ‎this around like she did with Serena and make this her game. Oh no. Schiavone is up 40-15. This really could be a ‎tiebreaker. So it is a tiebreaker. This could be the last part and maybe Stosur won’t win and Schiavone will. All those ‎people who believed in Stosur will be crushed and all those who believed in an Italian winning a Grand Slam will be ‎elated. COME ON AUSSIE COME ON. COME ON AUSSIE COME ON. Stosur takes the 1st point. Can someone please make ‎Schiavone lose some nerves or something??? 1 all. Stosur 1-2. Stosur 2 all. It’s like a volleyball with these two. The points ‎bounce back and forth, back and forth. Stosur 2-4 =S. Fight fight fight to the end. UH OH. Stosur 2-5. I think we’re just ‎about to be all proved wrong. Seriously. Schiavone is so close to winning. I can’t watch. OHMYGOSH. CHAMPIONSHIP ‎POINT. No, Stosur you CANNNNNN turn this around. Somehow, you can. I fail to believe that Schiavone can win the ‎French Open. I believe you can though. Somehow. ‎

OK. Schiavone has won. The end. I can imagine Anita cringing and so am I. I am cringing a LOT. AWWW. They’re so nice to ‎one another. They give each other a big hug. The score: 6-4, 7-6 Schiavone. So you didn’t win Stosur, but you got this far. ‎What WILL make me happy is if you win Wimbledon and the US Open and the Aus Open. I feel so sorry for Sam’s parents ‎because they flew ALL the way from Australia just to see her win, and everyone thought she would win, but she didn’t. ‎Something happened tonight. Stosur wasn’t quite the same as we have seen her before, against Henin, Williams, Jankovic. ‎Sam had beaten Schiavone 4 times before but this time she didn’t. BIG PAT ON THE BACK FOR YOU SAM :) I can’t believe ‎this is happening. Hey, but let’s all remember, Sam has done us proud. She was drawn in the hardest part of the Open ‎Draw. And she got this far. Sam goes up to get her mini trophy which she should be so proud of. Her first ever Grand ‎Slam thingymajig. Schiavone looks a little like a man if you put your mind to it… o.0. What a way to end my blog. ‎Schiavone gets to sing her national anthem but I’d prefer to hear the Australian anthem. ‎
Sam looks sad. =( I want to go up there and make her smile. Sam is grimacing and half-crying through her speech. You can ‎do this. Schiavone is holding the trophy almost up her nose. O.0‎
Bye blog. I am in sorrow and I believe Anita is in sorrow too and so is every other patriotic Australian and Sam Stosur fan. ‎‎=(‎

ANITA, you didn't come to school =(

well yes, another blog dedicated to the almight Anita, my tennis-crazy-compatriot.

this is proof of my craziness

TEEHEE. but the BIG i mean BIGGGGGGGGGGGGG story of today is that SAMANTHA STOSUR DID WIN AFTER ALL!!!!!!! if you would like some commentating (rather biased), read my previous blog

and i am also VERY annoyed that anita didn't come to school cos then i could talk to her about my awesome day and sam but NOOOOOO she didn't come to school =(
