Alys Shee & Aaron Smyth Varna Competition

So for anyone ballet fanatics out there (like me and Eve), you need to see this girl, Alys Shee. She's 16, from Canada and is pretty amazing. Well, not fantastic, but pretty good. Type 'alys shee' into youtube and you get heaps of videos of her doing super duper good pirouettes. She's anorexic. That's my only problem with her. Anyway, she was in Varna (Bulgaria) for a pas de deux comp with the Australian Aaron Smyth. If anyone remembers, he came 3rd on Australia's got Talent in 2008 or something and he's REALLY good.

Giselle Part 2 Round 2

let us speak wise words. ;)

"Movement does not exist outside of the human body. To become a true dancer means to bring to ideal balance the physical impossibilities of your stubborn imperfect body with the possibilities of your soul. Which, as you move through life is continually renewing itself and demanding new expression."
- Natalia Makarova

"Don't ask what the world needs. As what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world eeds is people who have come alive."

"Experience is the name every one gives to their mistakes."
- for Eve's sake: Oscar Wilde

"The most important things in life aren't things."

It never becomes easy—it becomes possible. The effort involved in making a dancer’s body is so long and relentless, in many instances painful, the effort to maintain the technique so grueling that unless a certain satisfaction is derived from the disciplining and the punishing, the pace could not be maintained.”
- Agnes de Mille
